There is a woman on my team who loves baking for every birthday, farewell, and random holiday. It's sweet in theory, except I have a severe nut allergy and she keeps insisting her desserts are 'probably fine' because she only used almond extract or processed something in the same kitchen.

The last two times she brought desserts, I quietly said no thanks and ate the fruit tray. This week she announced to the room that I never support anyone else's celebrations and must think her baking is beneath me. People laughed, but it put me on the spot.

So I said, as calmly as I could, that I wasn't interested in another trip to urgent care because she still doesn't understand what an allergy is. She went silent, then later told HR that I publicly humiliated her instead of talking privately.
